And just like that, we will celebrate 34 (consecutive) years of joy as well at this monster music event! Not exactly – just like that, but it often seems that way when we take inventory, and the years start to stack up and all the sudden we are celebrating No. 34!
Yup, we’ve been at a while y’all, but we are still forever grateful to Quint Davis, FPI and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation for their ongoing support of our genre, and of course our artistic vision of it. We’ve shared the same stage with so many amazing artists: Allen Toussaint, Marcia Ball, Cowboy Mouth, Better Than Ezra, the meters, Carlos Santana, Ozomatli, Phish. Q did some really righteous programming, right?! We know some of you remember these epic hook ups – new audiences being exposed to Louisiana roots music is a win for everyone. Happy 50th Jazzfest – and many thanks again for bringing us along for 34 of them!
