On May 9, 2016 Terrance Simien was presented a House Resolution for his accomplishments in music, performing arts as a respected ambassador for his Louisiana Creole culture. Representative Terry Landry and Representative Vincent Pierre, President of the Acadiana Delegation were both instrumental in recognizing Terrance’s contributions, and Simien is grateful beyond words. He sang a stunning version of the National Anthem for the opening of the session that day that brought the House to their feet with enthusiastic applause with some commenting they’d never had this anthem sung with such emotion, power and conviction. It brought a few grown men to tears! Later in the evening Simien and his family attended the House Democrats Donkey Romp fundraiser as a special guests of Representative Landry. This is where he was presented the certificate of recognition above. A big thanks also also goes to Dustin, the fine young son of our dear friend Donald Cravins, for also working hard to make this special day a reality for Terrance.
